Bo's Cigar Lounge Welcomes Anthony Davis

Torrance - February 11th 5pm to 8pm

AD Signing

Mr. Anthony Davis' visit to Long Beach was a great success and he has graciously agreed to join us in Torrance for a book signing on February 11, 2010. Most USC Trojan fans are familiar with the accomplishments of Anthony Davis, aka AD, on the gridiron, but not many understand what motivated him to be such a dominant force.

In his new book, If My Nikes Could Talk, the legendary "Irish Killer" reveals little know details behind his fascinating and legendary career. He shares stories of playing for USC Football Coach John McKay and with some of the most renowned players in football history.

The highlights of AD's football at USC, 1972-1974, are well known. The game against Notre Dame in 1974, known as "The Comeback," consistently tops polls as the most memorable game in college football history. Down 24-0, Anthony scored 26 of USC's first 27 points. The team rallied to win 55-24. In three games against Notre Dame, AD scored a total of 11 touchdowns and gained 737 yards.

A unamimous All-American tailback at USC, AD guided the Trojans to a 31-3-2 record, three conference titles, two Rose Bowl victories and two National Championships. Altogether, he accumulated 24 school, conference and NCAA records.

Now, for the first time, Anthony publically shares some of the challenges of his early life, including the difficulties of an alcoholic father, the racial and political challenges of the era and the pressures that success places on an athlete. He details the problems and victories in his professional career, as well as in his life since then.

Those who know Anthony Davis are aware of his quiet charm, his outspoken wit and his friendly regard for fans and friends. All of those qualities are evident in If My Nikes Could Talk, a delightful account of one of sports greatest legends

Please join us in Torrance on February 11th to get your copy of If My Nikes Could Talk.
